Friday Financial Tidbit-Stop Reading and Start Doing

Yes, you read the title of this blog right. I want you to stop reading this right now and start doing that one financial thing that you have been intending to do but never get around to doing. You’ve listened to the podcast, read the blog posts, and even subscribed to the newsletter. Knowing what we need to do is not the problem, it’s the starting that is the problem.

So stop reading and start doing. Sometimes I think we read financial blogs and listen to podcasts and convince ourselves we’ll start doing once we get one more little nugget of information. But we never do get around to doing. How do I know? Because I do it myself.

So lets log off our email, turn off the notification form Facebook and Twitter, and we may even need to log off the internet entirely for 30 minutes. Don’t worry it will still be there when you get back. But take the time to focus on finding out where your money has gone the past three months, list out your debts to create your debt snowball, determine how to better invest in your 401(K), or whatever else you have been telling yourself you need to do.

No more excuses, now is the time to stop learning and instead start to act.
