Sitting down and setting your goals is something that I am really big on. To me it is one of the most important pieces of a financial plan. Personally, I sat down last week for a few hours and set my goals of JW’s Financial Coaching for 2012. It was a blast and got me excited already for 2012! My encouragement to you is to take some time this week, go ahead and set YOUR goals for 2012.
Why start thinking ahead to 2012 in October you might ask. The reason is if you are like me, the last few months of 2012 go by in a blur. Halloween is here and before you know it, it’s Thanksgiving. That comes and goes and then Christmas and New Years are here and then it’s already 2012. Because of that I recommend doing your goals sooner rather than later, that way you will have more time to prepare and you won’t be hurried to make your goals.
One of the big keys to having your dreams become a reality is it to write them down on paper. That way they are not just in your head anymore, but also somewhere you can see them every day. Another tip I would add would be not to be afraid about dreaming big. Put some big goals on that paper that you don’t know how it will get accomplished and who knows it might actually come true. To help you with writing down your goals and dreaming big I have created a dreams and goals worksheet. This has helped my family out a lot in creating goals we can achieve and writing them down on paper. So if you haven’t thought about 2012 yet, now is the time to do so!
